Naratriptan (Amerge)- Dosage, Uses, and Side Effects

Naratriptan belongs to the triptan group of medications and is used in the treatment of migraines with or without aura. Serotonin, a naturally occurring substance in your body, activates receptors in your brain and nervous system. Naratriptan narrows the blood vessels and stops the release of sensory chemicals, which lowers the pain.

Naratriptan is used for short-term treatment of migraine in adults. It helps in relieving migraine and their symptoms. Take a tablet at the beginning of a migraine, or as directed by your doctor. Naratriptan should not be used to stop migraines.
